Real Love is a reflection on the phenomenon of ai girlfriends— constructed isolation and loneliness creating dependence on the creators of that isolation for soothing— that soothing reliant on data centers and their violence— my phone is full of messaging that anthropomorphizes technology and dehumanizes people losing access to water, home, ways of life to make way for it— I put myself in the screen and entered a deep mental tunnel for hours— embodying to understand what it is to be living technology, which in the belly of empire we all are— our emotional needs terraforming lands we’ll never see.
